Loaf & Larder
A bakery that bakes once, early, and sells until it is gone. The hero is a live board of what is still on the shelf — struck through in chalk as the day empties it.

Sourdough, a short pastry list, two cakes a day. By 2pm half the board is struck through.
The brief
Scarcity is the actual product here. People turn up at 4pm hoping something is left and go home disappointed, which is a bad experience the website can fix on its own: tell them what is still there, and let them put a loaf aside.
What we built
The chalkboard from behind the counter, rebuilt as the page itself. Not a headline with a board underneath — the board is the first thing you see, because “what’s left” is the most characteristic fact about the business. One page, because a bakery does not need six.
The detail that does the work
Every item carries a real remaining count read live from a database. At zero, a hand-drawn line strikes the name through — animated once, left to right, the way somebody crosses it off — and the row fades. Under three left, the count turns butter-yellow and reads only 2 left. When it is all gone the board collapses to a single line: That’s the lot. Back tomorrow at 7.
A site sent to somebody weeks later would otherwise freeze at whatever hour it was seeded, so a scheduled job rewrites the counts every twenty minutes. The board is never stale.
